To get fuel into the oil gas has to get past the petcock. The petcock can leak 2 ways: not properly shutting off or having a diaphram issue and leaking fuel into the manifold thru the vacuum hose. It goes like this, the battery has sufficient charge to energize the starter solenoid, but once the solenoid contacts close and power is supplied to the motor, voltage to the solenoid drops and the contacts open, removing power to the motor.It is good to go out on the suburban road and drive calmly and evenly at the beginning to allow the supplement to clean everything. Just in case, check the spark plugs if they are easily accessible and adjust their spacing. It is good to look at the air filter and if necessary clean or replace. Also check the throttle cord.
